Community Cafe...

Opening Times:

Monday 10.00am to 4.00pm
Tuesday to Friday 09.00am to 4.00pm

Run by MacIntyre Care, a charity providing learning, support & care to children and adults with learning disabilities, the excellent Community Café based within the GATEWAY can cater for all refreshment and catering needs. 

Customers can buy freshly made sandwiches, or choose from Panini's Soups, Salads, Jacket Potatoes, a selection of hot lunches and cakes, together with a selection of hot and cold drinks.

The Cafe is supported through a range of local partnerships, and also functions as a training facility for adults with learning disabilities wishing to explore the world of work and paid employment. The project supports and challenges individuals with learning disabilities to take increasing charge of their own lives through developing their skills for the day to day running of a cafe.

Key objectives of the Community Cafe are:

1. For Learning and work based training to be central to the project.
2. To provide sustainable progression opportunities.
3. To make a positive social and economic contribution to the local community.
4. To deliver high quality effective Cafe and buffer service.
